Karolina was a pop group put together in spring 1989 by Stepan Razin, composer Sergey Tumanov and Vladimir Volenko. Its face was Tatyana Korneva, later a solo singer as Karolina and, from 1999, the chanson singer Tatyana Tishinskaya.

A group that became a singer
According to Wikipedia, the group was assembled in Moscow by Stepan Razin, his school friend composer Sergey Tumanov and Vladimir Volenko of Bozhya Korovka. Tatyana Korneva was the face on stage, but other singers made the first recordings. Tumanov wrote the songs for the Diskobar cassette, and Volenko arranged them.
In 1992 Melodiya released the LP Sekret moego uspekha, already credited to Tanya Korneva and the group Karolina. In 1994 the group turned into the solo singer Karolina, and since 1999 Tatyana has performed as Tatyana Tishinskaya.
Not to be confused with Ani Lorak: the Ukrainian singer also started out as Karolina and had to change her name because of this Russian namesake.
