Disco Magic is retro sound we write ourselves: our own tracks in the spirit of the eighties and nineties, plus remixes of songs everybody knows. Listening starts right away, downloads are free. No ads, no subscriptions - and there never will be.

What we do

Italo disco, eurodance and synth-pop left the airwaves long ago, and a whole way of sounding went with them. Disco Magic keeps that sound alive: we not only store the records, we write new ones in the same idiom. Everything that comes out of it goes straight into the open archive.

We write and mix

Original compositions and remixes of familiar songs. Every piece goes through mixing and mastering before it reaches the site.
We build the archive

Covers, years, genres, keys - metadata is filled in by hand so the collection can be searched, not just scrolled.
We give it away

No banners, no paid tier. The project runs on voluntary support and stands on that.

How it went

Nine years in short - from the first tracks to a site of our own.

2017
First releases

Alexey starts posting retro sound on PromoDJ. The first listener comment arrives in April 2017 - the feedback it started has never stopped since.
2018-2019
The DJ circle

The tracks spread through the community and fellow DJs leave nearly sixty comments. We put them on the site as they are, unedited and unfiltered.

Alexander Vorobiev starts writing with Alexey. On the platforms the work comes out under both names - and it stayed that way.
2026
A home of our own

The project has had a site since 2017 and it was rebuilt several times. The current, final version of discomagic.ru brings our own player, round-the-clock radio, a blog about the era and the album “Forgotten Tune”.

The catalogue grows

New pieces come out regularly, the radio plays the collection non-stop, and the blog explains where this sound came from.
