A name from a comic
Zanetti comes from Massa in Tuscany and began piano lessons at fourteen. In the early 1980s he played in the band Taxi with Adelmo Fornaciari, later known as Zucchero.
In autumn 1983 he produced several dance records for Discomagic Records and took the name of a comic-book hero, Savage, for his own. That record was “Don’t Cry Tonight”. The album Tonight and the singles “Only You” and “Radio” followed, and Savage toured widely in Eastern Europe, including Poland and Russia.
Since 1986 Zanetti has run his own studio, Casablanca Recordings. As producer Robyx he wrote and mixed eurodance for Ice MC, Double You and Alexia.
