Remixes of the 90s and 2000s in a Modern Sound

119 tracks: two decades of the dance floor in new arrangements

Remixes of the 90s and 2000s in a modern sound - 119 tracks with an original year between 1990 and 2009: Russian pop and foreign dance in one list.

The nineties and the noughties run as one list here: the original has to date from 1990 to 2009, only remixes and covers qualify, and the order follows play counts. Compilations on tape and on the first burned discs were put together the same way - Senator next to Masterboy, Russian stage pop next to Eurodance.

Every version follows one rule: the melody and the lyrics stay with the original, the arrangement is written again. A straight kick, a fuller bass, a clean mix - everything a cassette recording lacked for technical reasons rather than by intent. There are no sped-up re-uploads of old masters in this collection.

Russian and foreign tracks are mixed together, because that is how they were played at the time: stage pop, Eurodance, italo disco, dance pop of the noughties. Play counts set the order, so what other people reach for most often rises to the top rather than whatever came out first. If you want a single decade, the nineties and the noughties have sections of their own with the same tracks split by year.

The whole thing plays in a row: the play-all button queues the collection in the player, and the project radio runs the same catalogue non-stop. Listening needs no account; MP3 downloads open after a free sign-up with email confirmation, and there is no subscription and no paid tier.

Questions about this collection

How is a remix different from the original?
The melody and the lyrics are the same, the arrangement is built again: rhythm section, synths, mixing. The song is replayed rather than re-glued - we do not speed up the original master or lay a beat over it.
Can the tracks be downloaded?
Streaming needs no account. MP3 downloads open after a free sign-up with email confirmation, which keeps bulk scraping out. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no advertising.
Are there Russian-language songs here?
Yes, plenty of them: stage pop of the nineties and pop of the noughties. Foreign originals of the same years sit alongside them - Eurodance, italo disco and dance pop.
