A Milan Project
Scotch was founded in Milan in the early '80s. Scotch is an example of how in Italo Disco you can be a "one-hit band" and still stay in genre history forever. Not every artist manages to make one track powerful enough to outlive its era. Scotch did.
"Disco Band" turned up again on TikTok in 2022 - in a trend of retro dances and stylized "80s cosplay" videos the tag with this track pulled over 40 million views in a couple of months. For a band whose last single came out in the late '80s, that's the biggest attention spike in its entire history. The forty-year-old chorus of "Disco band, disco band" turned out to be better suited to TikTok than to 2010s radio - short, catchy, ready for a 15-second loop.
